This is a great space to welcome users to your blog and to let people know exactly what you are blogging about. If this is a business blog, a bit about your company would fit in here perfectly. This is the first block of text your users will read. Did you know that artificial selection offers remarkable examples of the amount of diversity that can exist between individuals sharing a late common ancestor. To perform artificial selection, one begins with a particular species.

So I have been searching for another Knowledge base and found one. Very good and has some awesome features. It is PHP based. it is called 68kb. Check it out.
UPDATE: This Script is buggy and doesn’t install well. Tried installing on a mac server and also on a shared hosting platform and it doesn’t work.
Supports unlimited categories and sub-categories, unlimited articles, user comments and ratings, a glossary and much more. All output is controlled through templates so you can customize it to match your site. Powerful natural language search engine allows users to find what they are looking for easily. Users can suggest ideas for new articles, and the software will also keep a log of all search terms that return no results so you can improve your knowledge base. Printable format and e-mailing of articles is included.
The software company JMBsoft stopped updating the software and no longer offers it as a paid script. But I have good news! Its free now. other apps are also available in the download directory.
UPDATE: Great program! I do not do PHP scripts or programming, however it does need to be updated to work correctly on the newer versions of PHP and MYSQL. MYSQL seems to be fine, however PHP for sure needs some changes. Anyone want to take this up as a Open source solution we could contact the company and see what they say.
One of the things I have an obsession for is databases. I remember in college using Access. I always wanted to learn how to create web databases and never got around to it. The programming thing I just didn’t have the patience for. DB QwikSite is one of those database applications that allows you to create a database without the programming. This program is not free, but they do have a personal edition. Check it out. Take a tour of the application and see how easy it is to use. Only available for Windows.
“Web-browser, advanced e-mail, newsgroup and feed client, IRC chat, and HTML editing made simple — all your Internet needs in one application.” I have yet to try this app, but is sure looks cool. They offer this for Mac and Windows Operating Systems. Another great application from Mozilla! get it here

OSTicket has been around for a couple of years. It is Open Source Help Desk ticketing system that allows your users or customers to submit a ticket if they are having a problem. The good thing is once the support person grabs the ticket, they can reply and when the client receive’s the response, they can reply back and it goes into the original ticket. you can take a look at OSticket here
